JEWELRY MAINTENANCE TIPS

A few basic precautions go a long way. Dust, pollution and everyday wear  combined with regular exposure to the elements  can dull the brilliance of gemstones. Platinum, gold and silver surfaces can scratch and lose their shine over time. Damaged prongs, clasps and buckles can cause gemstones or parts of the piece to come loose.

Impact & Abrasion
Protect your jewelry from hard surfaces and avoid contact with abrasive materials. Even a diamond can scratch if struck with enough force at the right angle. Stones like amethyst, emerald, kunzite, opal, pearl, peridot, tanzanite and tourmaline are particularly delicate and require extra care. Gemstones can scratch other stones and wear down precious metal surfaces, avoid stacking rings and bracelets that are more vulnerable to abrasion.

Heat & Chemicals
Extreme temperatures, perfumes, cosmetics, ultrasonic cleaning solutions and household chemicals can all damage your jewelry. Put your piece on last  after applying any product to your skin.

Cleaning
We do not recommend home cleaning methods using household, chemical or abrasive solutions, nor the use of brushes, tweezers or any other tools that could damage the structure, setting or finish of your KOAH pieces.

Maintenance
Inspect your jewelry regularly for any wear on gemstone prongs, clasps and joints. If you notice anything that needs attention, contact KOAH Brand before continuing to wear the piece. We recommend professional maintenance once a year for pieces worn daily.
